After studying at Utrecht University, Maarten worked at another law firm for five years. He has been working for Van Veen Advocaten for more than ten years, reinforcing the business, insolvency and property law practice groups.

Maarten’s clients mainly include owners of SMEs, directors, creditors and private individuals. Among other things, he is experienced in drafting and checking agreements. He offers advice about directors' and officers' liability or the selling, buying, letting and renting of homes. He also helps creditors collect payments and informs them about the possibilities during a liquidation process.

The client’s interests are the focal point of Maarten’s work. He will always investigate whether a case can be settled out of court.

Maarten is an approachable lawyer with a calm demeanour. He’s able to analyse tricky cases well and then transparently formulates the disputes and the (legal) solutions. Maarten has a dry sense of humour and makes contacts easily. When he's on a case, he’s in no-nonsense mode, something his clients truly appreciate.
